Catching Up from Summer

I'd like to think our family had a great summer. We did not go on vacation or do anything crazy out of the ordinary, but it was a simple, laid back summer. The kids and I really enjoy Micah coming home from work at 3pm. We enjoyed no school and pajama parties all day. We enjoyed splurging on cookies to eat all day long while we watched Dav's favorite cartoons. And, we really enjoyed staying up late with NO agenda the next day.

Many milestones were met by Lilli! She went from sitting up like a big girl to crawling all over the house in no time. She started eating baby food and really LOVING table foods. She's our girl -what do you expect? She LOVES to be outside too - just like Dav. She's already walking. YIKES. I think she dreamed about it one night and was doing it the next morning. She LOVES blowing kisses, waiving, clapping her hands, yelling, sticking her tongue out and just being one happy baby girl.

We enjoyed MiMi and Poppy's pool all summer long. We loved our late nights there and grilling out for dinner. The bugs (mosquitoes and gnats) were horrible this year, but other than that we really had a great time playing out in the water soaking up the sun rays.

Dav turned FOUR. I still can't believe it. What in the world?! He is growing up so very fast and he really amazes me every single day how much he changes overnight. He is becoming such a big boy! And, very much a Mr. Independent. Whoa! His favorite thing this past summer was the Rescue Bots, Daniel Tiger and Peppa Pig! I know, I know >> they are VERY different from each other. He's random (he gets that from his Daddy + Mommy) :)

This summer I was diagnosed with having pernicious anemia. In very human and simple terms, this is a b12 deficiency. My body is not absorbing b12. It was found just by happenstance from a general bloodwork after reoccurring sinusitis. I will talk more about this later, but thanking Jesus my PA found this and has started to help some issues I could not pinpoint what was the underlying problem.

We joined a new church. I have a TON of memories with this church growing up -even though we were never members there (at that time). It is 3 seconds up the road from my parents house and with growing up in that community, I always attended their Vacation Bible Schools. We made this decision for our family because we were members of a non-denominational church with over 1000 members and we wanted smaller for our children. LOVED our preacher at the previous church, but we have our foundation. It's time to focus on Dav and Lilli and help teach them about Jesus and how much we need Him. I want them to grow in church and be active...just like I was. We love watching our children grow and there is nothing better than being happy with watching them grow in their faith.

The thing I regret most about this summer is I didn't take as many pictures as I wanted to with my DSLR. I need to make it more of a habit to grab it before I grab my phone to take pictures. But I did take LOADS of pictures with my phone.

And, saving the best for last -- I started a new blog. I blogged for over 2 years at the previous one and I loved it ... THEN. But, now having taking huge breaks from it this summer I just realized that I wanted a place where I could share our tales and not have always share tutorials or try to sponsor someone, etc. I even decided no sidebars here, no blog buttons, no partner post, not even any comments. Sometimes I would put together a post on the other blog and work really hard then turn around and get so bummed out because no one commented. So, this blog is really for me. Of coarse, mommy friends and family are welcome to come read it to stay up to date with us. I really cherish the friendships I made along the way with my other blog. I really needed a new start >> a simple blog for a simple girl living in a very crazy, but simple world.
